Waarom een vloercoating aanbrengen?

Wanneer je zoekt naar een nieuwe vloer voor bedrijfspanden, overweeg dan ook eens de optie van een vloercoating aanbrengen. Een coating kan vergeleken worden met een gietvloer. Het aanbrengen is te vergelijken, echter de laag is minder dik. Bij een vloercoating dient de ondervloer nog wel heel te zijn, maar is bijvoorbeeld lelijk geworden door verkleuring of slijtage. Het voordeel van alleen een coating aanbrengen, is dat de vloer er direct als nieuw uitziet, maar dan voor een fractie van de prijs wat een gietvloer kost. Er bestaan meerdere type vloercoatingen. Epoxy of PU vloercoating

Bij een vloercoating kies je uit epoxy of PU (polyurethaan). De eerste is een goede keuze voor onder andere werkplaatsen, garages, magazijnen, loodsen en bedrijfshallen. Epoxy wordt keihard en is goed bestand tegen chemische of zware mechanische belasting. PU coatings zijn dit minder, maar bieden meer comfort. Vandaar dat PU vloercoatings in kantoren, showrooms, winkels en zelfs woningen aangebracht worden. Met epoxy is vloerverwarming niet mogelijk, onder polyurethaan kan dit vaak wel.

Zelf aanbrengen of coating laten aanbrengen?

Je kunt online coating kopen, maar enkel omdat het kan, betekent dit niet dat het ook verstandig is. De laagdikte van een vloercoating is zeer dun, gemiddeld is dit 0,2 tot 0,3 millimeter. Je kunt je voorstellen dat zo’n dunne laag goed aanbrengen erg moeilijk is. Wanneer je het zelf doet en je hebt de ondergrond niet goed voorbereid, dan is de kans groot dat deze dunne laag weer loslaat en de hele vloer opnieuw moet. Bovendien hoef je voor de prijs het niet zelf te doen, de gemiddelde prijs voor een epoxy coating ligt rond de 25 euro per m². Dit is onder andere afhankelijk van de ondergrond en de oppervlakte. Hoe groter de oppervlakte, hoe lager de vierkantemeterprijs.

Specialistische vloercoatings

Wist je dat er met vloercoatings ongeveer evenveel mogelijkheden zijn als met een volledige gietvloer? Bijvoorbeeld de vloer antistatisch maken, dit kan zowel met een nieuwe gietvloer als alleen met het aanbrengen van de coating bereikt worden. Voor parkeergarages is een epoxy coating een veelgekozen optie. Een keer lekkage van een auto waarbij er wat olie op de vloer komt? Geen probleem. De sporen van autobanden? Dit komt weinig voor en anders is het makkelijk schoon te maken. Met een vloercoating kan een parkeergarage er zeer netjes uitziet.

Vloer dicht maken

Een vloercoating wordt veel toegepast op plekken waar de uitstraling van de vloer belangrijk is. Soms is een coating echter noodzakelijk. Bij de opslag van chemicaliën bijvoorbeeld is het hebben van een impermeabele vloer een vereiste. Wanneer jij met chemicaliën werkt, geef dan bij de aanleg van de vloer aan welke dit zijn en welke coating het beste geschikt is daartegen.

Kleuren vloercoating

Bij een coating denken mensen vaak aan grijs, wit of lichtblauw. Er is echter veel meer keus. Kies uit alle RAL kleuren, laat vlokken toevoegen voor een mooi en speels effect, laat de belijning of andere aanduidingen erin aanbrengen of kies voor een transparante vloercoating. Er is veel meer mogelijk dan je denkt en dat tegen lagere prijzen dan je verwacht voor een nieuwe vloer.
